Tokyo, Part 2 - Meiji Jingu

Right within downtown Tokyo is a shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken.  It's an amazing place - quiet and holy and a forest hidden from the craziness of the city.

 There's a beautiful  garden  inside the park that the Emperor dedicated to his wife.  This was her tea house.  Have goals for your relationship.

 In the summer this area is filled with irises, because they were the Empress's favorite flower.
