Does This Sweater Make Me Look Like Emma Watson?
I'm all for sustainable fashion. I live in San Francisco, I carry my own tote bag to the store, and I like being really snooty about plastics made in China. In practice, however, I find a lot of ecofriendly clothing really terrible or really expensive. My aesthetic is not very crunchy (I once wore fur to a vegetarian co-op which like, never again) and I flat out refuse to pay $100 for a t-shirt - I don't care where it's made or what it's made of.
That's why I was really intrigued when Zady began creating their own line. (They had previously served as a retailer for sustainable fashion.) They paired with Emma Watson to create a collection that turned out classic and not prohibitively expensive pieces. There are lots of pencil skirts, sweaters, and nice trousers.
I love cable knits and decided to purchase this beauty in cream. (Almost everything else was sold out in my size.) It's a little itchy, which is not unexpected as it's 70% wool, 30% alpaca. The wool is GOTS certified, but I have no idea what that means. It was also knitted in America! It's oversized and perfect and I'm not taking it off until the weather goes above 60 degrees. Here's my new twin wearing it:
Here is me, a not millionaire who has a decidedly less polite image:
I am wearing a size medium and it's definitely large on me, so if you're looking for a more fitted look (or if you're shorter than 5'9"), I would size down. I got this sweater for $150 using code "wintersale" on Zady.
